Steve Purvin, CSCS
Steve Purvin, CSCS, is a Strength, Conditioning and Fitness expert for Pro Sports Performance & Fitness. Steve has more than 10 years of experience in the sports performance and personal training field both as a client and a coach. A driven athlete himself, Steve attended Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota on a football scholarship and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology with a minor in Sports Nutrition while completing his coursework to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Immediately following his senior season, Steve began coaching football at Concordia and took control of the school’s off-season athletic conditioning program. His experience designing sport-specific strength and conditioning programs has led to his training and development with athletes of every major sport and competitive level from youth/teen individual development, to team and league programs, up to athletes in the NCAA, NHL, NFL and MLB.
Scott Hejna, CPT
Scott Hejna is an A.C.E. & A.F.P.A. certified personal trainer, speed and agility coach, and Group Fitness expert for Pro Sport Performance & Fitness. Scott also has more than 10 years of experience in personal training and sports performance industry. As a collegiate athlete, Scott received All-American honors as a safety for The University of St Francis in Joliet. While at St. Francis, Scott earned his Bachelor Degree in Business Management with a minor in Economics.
After graduation Scott continued his football career with the Chicago Slaughter, a professional arena football team. After retiring from football, Scott embarked on a successful career in the fitness consulting industry. Scott is bringing his passion for sport performance and with his love for group style personal training to PSP Fitness.
John Binkowski, MA, Nasm

Performance Enhancement Specialist
John brings over 20 years of strength, speed, conditioning, and fitness experience to PSP. John currently holds certifications from PTA Global & NASM. He maintained both CSCS & CSCC certifications for over 15 years. John broke into Athletic Performance profession succeeding a decorated collegiate career at Western Illinois University where he was an 3 time All-Conference selection as well as a 2 time All-American offensive lineman. Immediately upon graduation John pursued his Masters Degree in Exercise Science while serving as a graduate assistant strength coach responsible for football and basketball specifically.
In addition to his work with college athletes, John spent the next decade coaching athletes to perform at their maximum potential. His client base extended into the professional ranks with NBA athletes from the Seattle Sonics, Portland Trail Blazers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers. His roster also included 4 world champion boxers. Over his career, John has trained athletes in all of the major four sports as well as 8 Olympic athletes and 2 PGA major winners. In his 12 years in the Strength field, John has had over 75 athletes drafted and compete at the professional level. His passion and experience working with athletes makes John an invaluable addition to the Pro Sports Performance coaching staff.
